tent camping in the Valley

My extended family and I are planning to camp this summer in the Valley. There are 12 of us with tents & tent trailers. I know how crowded it is there, for good reason. Any suggestions for campgrounds there? I realize that this park has been impacted by overuse and the summer is probably the worst time to visit. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks

Max:

There's a great site on Yosemite, YosemiteFun.com. Click on the camping link in the upper left hand corner. It gives information on many of the park's campgrounds, and even a link to YosemiteSites (that shows what campgrounds have availability left up to mid-July).

Personally, of the Valley car campgrounds, my favorite is N. Pines. It is furthest away from the hustle and bustle of the Villages...but as you noted, don't expect solitude. Crowded, but worth it!

Hope this helps....have a great time!
