I just picked this book up. And I think it's just great. If you have any interest give it a look using the Look Inside or go to your local
bookstore and give it a look-see.
The drawings are just excellent.
I finally see why it is called a "Golden-manteled Ground Squirrel" and not a "Chipmunk"!
Inside are Fungi, Cones (the Sugar Pine is the tallest pine species in the world), flowers,
butterflies, fish, snakes, birds, mammals, insests...
I highly recommend this book if you have any interest in the flora or fauna of the Sierra Nevada.
(and no, I don't profit in any way from the sale of this book)
(you can get a free night accomodation at Loch Tablae though!)
(meals, tents, bedding not provided)
