On a clear day in California, you can see for miles across the Central Valley from the Sierra on the east to the coastal range on the west. And on a clear night in Yosemite National Park, you can see a rainbow.

I found the Texas State University moonbow predictions. Following are links to the 2009 predictions.

Upper Yosemite Fall:

Lower Yosemite Fall:

They take place pretty late in the evening, making them difficult to see when you start your day at 4:30 in the morning.
