As a callow youth, I was informed that the domes of Yosemite were created by the sculpting effect of glaciers flowing over the surface. I have recently been informed that dome formation is actually due to exfoliation of sheets of granite as the overlying strata of rock is removed. So much for the innocence of youth (corrupted early). The top of half dome did not experience glaciation. And when you step up the steepest part of the cables, you step up one nasty exfoliated layer. Very scary since at that spot you can't see up or down, you're hanging. I do not have a photo of that since I was busy hanging on.

Shouldn't you say "shallow" instead of "callow"
