Vogelsang Peak

I plan to hike around and maybe climb Vogelsang Peak this summer. What is the easiest route up to the peak? From pictures I've looked at, there seems to be a chute on the left side looking from Vogelsang Lake, and another that follows a ridge in the center.

Class 2 via the northeast slope. Leave the Vogelsang Pass Trail about 1/4 mile south of the outlet of Vogelsang Lake.
Ascend a faint gully that leads up to the north ridge of the peak, and follow the ridge south to the summit.
The ridge from Vogelsang Pass is also class 2.
I'd probably just go up to the pass and go from there. Haven't been up there myself but if it's class 2 it's pretty simple.
The quote above is from the High Sierra book by Secor.
