Federal economic stimulus funds headed to the north state to lower fire danger could create thinning projects that would fuel wood-burning power plants. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced Wednesday that $15 million will be spent on 55 projects in various states aimed at reducing the amount of brush and small trees on land overseen by the Bureau of Land Management.
