Bishop, CA (June 22, 2009)...Come have a blast! Are you looking for something for the whole family to do and enjoy this 4th of July? Then be sure not to miss the USDA Forest Service’s "Fire Safety Fun Festival" Open House on July 4th immediately following the Mammoth Lakes Parade. Come join us from approximately 12:00 to 3:00 at the Forest Service Fire Station, located on Main Street and Sawmill Cutoff Road (by Shady Rest Campground). Kids will learn about fire safety and play fire-related games to earn a t-shirt. Activities will include:
- Water games
- Balloons
- Fire education games and
- Come Meet Smokey!
Meet interagency firefighters and fire prevention specialists from the Bureau of Land Managment and US Forest Service. Learn how we manage wildland fires and how to make your home fire safe. Fire Prevention guest Smokey Bear will be making appearances throughout the day. Everyone is welcome to join the fun!
