TWIMC,
This is the one pool that Chick-on didn't fall into and need to be rescued.

At least The Marmots are native; Chick-on is an invasive species.

Yoo-hoo.... anyone out there that been there?
It's the color. You may find some pool with ice in it that looks cool... but that won't last thru the
summer.... this pond... everytime been by it... just saw "wow... that is friggin cool".

No one agree?

Noone would probably be more inclined to agree if he knew what was causing that color.

[I've seen the same color on the Kings River in the vicinity of (I think) Middle Paradise Valley. Probably was in a backwater section - I'll have to go back through my photos.]

The sand in the bottom of the pool is white and the pool doesn't seem to collect debris or algae.

Mike,
OK, I didn't mention it in my post but I seem to recall that the area on the Kings was a relatively shallow, white sand bottom also.
[Have to think about the optics/physics of this... or we can just ask Vince.]

Len,
The color in Dales photo is quite true. Your jaw drops when you come around a corner and there's this pond. The first time we saw it was probably at least five years ago and it looks the same now as it did then. Not an anomaly

Absolutely incredible!! I have only seen this color one other time, but it was in Italy. The place was called Emerald grotto, however, it was tucked in at the base of a cliff and it was agreed that it was a play on light (there is another called Blue Grotto with the same effect) Both of these pools had underwater light sources from submerged openings.

Do you have more pretty peek-chures posted on yer Temp Junk collection?
