Rattlesnake On Mist Trail
July 08, 2009 06:44PM
I just made my first trip to Yosemite, and while hiking the Mist Trail from Vernal Falls we saw a 3 to 4 foot long rattlesnake.
The snake was in the rocks adjacent to the trail. This was on the portion of the trail between the Vernal falls bridge and the
trailhead.

So it was between Happy Isles and the bridge?

So Eeek, what's the bite rate per year in the park?

I'll bet it's the same number that are:
- attacked by cougars
- bitten by bears
- dry humped by marmots

That's OK, he doesn't need NPS permission to be there.

Forgot to ask:
Did you notice if he had an ear tag and, if so, what the number was?
