Saddlebag Lake

Anyone been up there this season? Is the water level anywhere near normal? Three years ago the water level was about a foot from the spillway on top of the dam, and the last two years it barely touched the dam. (Close to 40 ft difference)

I was up there on June 19th, the road was still closed. It wasn't till I got home that I found out the road opened the next day.

Hi. I'm new to this forum and have been reading lots of useful info. When I visited Saddlebag Lake during July 4th weekend, I recall the water being atleast several feet below the spillway but I am not sure what is normal for this time of year. The main loop trail still had some patches of snow between Helen and Steelhead Lakes.

Yeah the normal level is around 10 ft from the spillway, good to know, thanks! It will stay at about that level for the entire season.

Nice. Thanks for the photos.

For others... in the first photo that is Mt. Dana in the background.
(which is where I surmised that Saddlebag was full(ish))
In the 2nd and 3rd ... you can see the Conness Glacier in the background.
The peak in #2 is North Peak.

It’s great to see the entire region get back to normal water levels, hopefully the rest of the state's reservoirs will start filling up next year. Thanks
