July is the new August. I was surprised to see Buckeye turning yellow on 198 coming out of Sequoia. Leaves falling in late June!

I think I'll stay home with the A/C!

It's a great time of year to hit the trail real early, climb high, and enjoy NOT freezing like some of us did earlier in the season. I do enjoy the desert and the mountains even in the heat; if you are out in it as much as I am, you learn to aclimate comfortably even into the high 90's. Too much A/C softens you up. (my A/C is set to come on at 85).

I'll bet the same types that climb Half Dome are running around in the DEATH Valley heat just to prove they can do it. There should be restrictions on outdoor activity when the temperature gets to dangerous levels.
How many people have to get heat stroke or exhaustion before the NPS does something to protect human life?
