When you're a hungry heron sometimes it's better to skip the fish course and go straight for the main - even if it's got feathers just like you.

I believe fish eating birds typically swallow fish head first so that the fish's spiny fins prevent it from escaping backwards out the birds throat. Same method applied to another bird.
