Public Scoping Comments for Integrated Master Utility Plan/ Environmental Assessment Sought by Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park announces the opening of public scoping for an Environmental Assessment (EA) for an Integrated Master Utility Plan serving Yosemite Valley on January 10, 2003.
The existing utility infrastructure serving Yosemite Valley was identified in the Yosemite Valley Plan as a potential problem due to its age, condition, inadequate capacity, inaccessibility to future facilities, and inappropriate location in environmentally sensitive areas. The utility systems that are part of this project are potable water, sanitary sewage, power, and communications.
Because of the interrelated nature of the utility systems serving Yosemite Valley and the need to address the correction of all systems serving key areas of the valley, the National Park Service is preparing an integrated plan.
The new utility system will be designed to support the existing infrastructure as well as accommodate future implementation of the Yosemite Valley Plan.
Comments will be accepted for a 45-day scoping period from January 10, 2003 to February 26, 2003. To be considered, comments must be received at the park in writing by the close of this period. To submit comments, please write to Superintendent, P.O. Box 577,Yosemite, CA 95389, fax 209/379-1294 or email [email protected]</HTML>
