I'd note these are originally Los Angeles Times pieces.

They also mention Yosemite being west of San Francisco, which is obvious the wrong way.

Gotta love those copy editors who do nothing but go to work and go home and don't do anything else and think they're knowledgeable about the world that surrounds them.

I spent the night flying around Google Earth checking out some of those parks, good fun on high speed internet. One of these days I'm going to get to Alaska...
