Sealing of Yosemite Valley Roads will begin June 10th. The work will occur between June 10th and June 25th. One lane flagger controlled traffic delays will be limited to 15-minutes.
The following is the proposed schedule for the above referenced work:
June 10th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or they may work longer if traffic allows. (If the weather warms up enough we may end up working on Sunday night (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM) to minimize traffic delays)
June 11th thru 14th from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (if weather and traffic permit we may start earlier and end later)
June 17th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or they may work longer if traffic allows.
June 18th thru 21st from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (if weather and traffic permit we may start earlier and end later)
June 24th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or they may work longer if traffic allows.
June 25th from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM (if weather and traffic permit we may start earlier and end later)
If weather permits we will begin working the night of June 10th to minimize the traffic disruptions and we would begin in front of Village Store. If the weather does not warm up enough then we will begin at 8:00 AM towards the westerly end of Village Drive. The plan would be to close the road in front of the Administration building while still allowing pedestrian traffic to cross thru the area. We would keep the shuttle stop segment of road open to 1-way traffic.
The week of June 10th we would focus on Village Drive and the road to the Awahnee. The second week we will focus on the following areas: Government housing areas (Ponderosa Lane and Indian Canyon Road Areas), Curry Village Main Entrance-Exit Road, Northside Drive between the Yosemite Falls Bus Stop and the Yosemite Lodge intersection, Northside Drive between Curry Village Intersection and Camp-6. Also depending upon progress the locations may change as to when and where we will be at an area within the 2-week period.
Please be patient and please do not walk in the seal until it has dried or has been sanded. Depending upon weather conditions this material takes approximately 3-4 hours to cure enough to drive or walk on.
