...ANOTHER LATE SEASON SNOWFALL FOR THE SIERRA...
A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DROP OUT OF THE GULF OF ALASKA
TOMORROW AND BRING ANOTHER ROUND OF WINTER WEATHER TO EASTERN
CALIFORNIA AND WESTERN NEVADA LATE WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.
SNOW WILL BEGIN FALLING OVER THE SIERRA FROM LAKE TAHOE NORTHWARD
LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY ON THURSDAY.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ABOVE 7000 FEET
WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES POSSIBLE AT LAKE LEVEL.
FOR THE SIERRA SOUTH OF LAKE TAHOE...INCLUDING MONO COUNTY...SNOW
WILL BEGIN FALLING ALONG THE SIERRA CREST EARLY THURSDAY MORNING AND
TAPER OFF TO SNOW SHOWERS ON THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
OF 6 TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE SIERRA CREST ABOVE 8000
FEET.
FOR WESTERN NEVADA...PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS RAIN ON THURSDAY.
SNOW LEVELS WILL LOWER ON THURSDAY AND REACH MOST VALLEY FLOORS
BY THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN WESTERN NEVADA WILL BE
LIGHT AND CONFINED TO AREAS ABOVE 5500 FEET.</HTML>
