sorry if this is off topic, but i was wondering if anyone could recommend some snow boots (or any kind of boot) that i could purchase. i'd be using them to walk around Yosemite Valley in the snow in the winter.. not for hiking, but just to walk around the meadow below El Capitan.

I have a pair of North Face boots similar to these:

North Face Lifty

They are pretty comfy for snowshoeing and keep my feet fairly warm with Primaloft insulation.

Zappos is a great place to buy boots & shoes. Free shipping & free return shipping if they don't fit. So you can order 2 and return the ones that don't fit.

Here are the same boots on Zappos (better description, better pictures)

letterknit;

when sizing one's feet for these boots, should you allow a little bit bigger size if you plan on wearing thick winter (wool) socks?
