i've never been here, and was wondering if bicycles were allowed on the trail, and if it was a good idea or not? i wouldn't want to break any rules or upset any visitors.

It looks like the trail goes into a Wilderness Area. That means no bikes.

As far as I recall, bikes aren't allowed on dirt trails anywhere in Yosemite, including Yosemite Valley.

Saddlebag Lake isn't actually in Yosemite.
