Teenager Rescued From Below Canyon Rim
The park received a report of an injured man beneath the canyon rim near Mather Point just after 7 a.m. last Saturday. Arriving rangers found a 19-year-old man approximately ten feet below the rim. Within 20 minutes of the initial call, they had made it down to him and began stabilizing his injuries and preparing him for transport. By 8:25 a.m., he'd been lifted to the, rim, where he was met by the park's ambulance and taken to Grand Canyon Clinic with non-life threatening injuries.
