In an attack that's rare, but not unheard of, a grizzly bear apparently killed an adult horse in the Carter Mountain area, according to the Game and Fish.

I would suppose a somewhat incapacitated horse or an ambush.
Perhaps a dead horse found by the bear and munched on.
Unlikely one that could move normally.
But surely to be used as an excuse for shooting bears.
