Mosquitos in HSCs?
April 12, 2004 03:41AM
<HTML>I've read conflicting "advice" on two different web sites about mosquitos in the High Sierra Camps / trails. One reported there were no problems until mid July. The other stated the problem with mosquitos was over by mid July! Anyone have another opinion?
Thanks.</HTML>

<HTML>I really depends on what the weather was a week or two before. Just be prepared for them and happy if they aren't there.</HTML>

Just back from Tuolumne, May Lake, Sunrise via Cathedral Lakes. The only time I even had to put repellent on my skin was on the Cathedral Lakes trail, near the lakes.
I came home with one bite. BTW wildflowers are still in full bloom - incredible! Very cold nights, beautiful days.

There weren't any at Vogelsang yesterday.

A lot of the meadows are dried up or almost dry. That was fast...

Didn't notice any at Tuolumne today nor any at Tioga Pass.
