The Inyo National Forest will issue a campground prospectus on September 30, 2011 for three campground concession permits with operations that will begin in January, 2012.

The prospectus solicits proposals for a special use permit to operate, maintain and provide high-quality public service in government-owned recreation facilities located on the Inyo National Forest. Three permits will be issued. One permit will be issued for Complex #1 Rock Creek and Convict Lake Area Campgrounds; one permit will be issued for Complex #2 Bishop and Big Pine Creek Area Campgrounds; and one permit will be issued for Complex #3 Mt. Whitney and Onion Valley Area Campgrounds. Each permit area must have a separate application, and each application must include the information as stated in the prospectus.

The prospectus includes campgrounds on the White Mountain, Mammoth, and Mount Whitney Ranger Districts. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the prospectus carefully and visit the recreation sites at least once before submitting an application. Each applicant is expected to make an independent assessment of the business opportunity offered in this prospectus.

The prospectus is available to download from the Inyo National Forest website at http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/Inyo/Granger-Thye-Prospectus for all three Complexes.

Applications must be received by close of business (4:30 p.m.) on November 30, 2011. They should be submitted to the Inyo National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 351 Pacu Lane Suite 200, Bishop, CA 93514; Attention: RECREATION Campground Prospectus Bid. A selection will be made in December 2011 so that permits may be issued in January, 2012.
