ScienceDaily (Oct. 7, 2011) — Researchers at Stanford's Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve often encounter signs of mountain lion activity, from lion scat to the occasional deer carcass covered with leaves. But few have actually caught a glimpse of the shy feline.

What an odd title for that article. That article had nothing really to do about learning to live in mountain lion country at all. It spent more time describing the pilot project of Stanford's Woods Institute: Rising Environmental Leaders Network.

By the title I thought it would have touched more on the encroachment of housing subdivisions on what has been historically prime mountain lion territory as is happening today in San Diego County and all around the Sierra foothills.

No one, except for wildlife, lives on the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve.
