If you live close to SF and you need a hiking fix, Point Reyes is a worthy destination.

Myself, three times. Twice hiking north from Black Sands Beach, once south from the mouth of the Mattole. Sadly I don't have any pictures in order at this point, but its spectacular.

About 20 years ago, I did a 100 mi bike race called "Tour of the Unknown Coast". My performance that day was forgettable, but the scenery was memorable! The combination of redwoods and stunning seascapes was fantastic.



The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.
