mosquitoes season this year in mid july?

Has anyone returned from Tuolumne meadows area just recently? How is the mosquito season this year in Yosemite high country? I am thinking about camping out in the high country near Sunrise in mid-july.

Weekend before last there were zero mosquitoes. YMMV

A friend just returned from the Rogers Canyon area and said there were virtually no mosquitoes until above 7500' or so on the Rodgers Canyon side. Some few for a while in the evening at Morrison Creek. He used the White Wolf trailhead. It could be a very light year.

Talked to some people coming out of Pate Valley who came from Glen Aulin and they said the Mosquitos were "screaming" when I asked if the waterfalls were.
For me there were relatively none from 4600-7000 ft. I consider them bad if they are landing on you when you are hiking. It was only that way
around Harden Gardens which is around 7500 and is quite wet.
Going to go to Starr King Lake this weekend ~8000ft. I'll let you know
how it is... (I'm bringing Mosquito dope!)
I'd concur with Mike though... they may be all history by mid-July this year.

Everything I know I learned from Chick-on is looking at you!

Mosquitos near Mount Starr King were mild to medium. Only had to
put dope on near Starr King Lake.
Interesting weather on Saturday... Beautiful as usual... thunderclouds to
the east.. then around 3pm storm came in from west and rained some
and blew really hard... just a bit of thunder and lightning. crystal clear
blue skys by 7pm. Smelled smoke by 8pm. Next morning huge amount
of smoke enveloped Illouette Basin.
Anyone have any update?
How about Mosquitos in Tuolumne?

Just returned from Glen Aulin and May lake, and can report that the mosquitoes are thick between Glen Aulin and Cathedral Creek, medium in other areas.

North of Yosemite:

Mosquitoes between Bumpass Hell and Kings Creek in Lassen only bothered me when I stopped walking and even then there were only a few.

The mosquitos were numerous and hungry at Tenaya Lake 6/23/08.

They were bad in TM and horrible on the trail to Vogelsang and Mono Pass (and even dog lake/lembert dome). One of us had polka dot legs (not me) and the only thing that seemed to work was 100% deet. We tried lemon eucalyptus Repel, Off smooth and dry, and cutter advanced sport heavy duty, but they did not seem to work on us in TM.

They weren't too bad in the valley. On the trail to half dome they were annoying, but not untolerable.
