Just got back from 5 days at the TM campgound. Arrived at 7:30am there
were about 10 people in the line waiting to get a spot. We never bother
with reservations and have been there numerous times. You just have to
get there before they open at 8:30am
Found 3 spots in the "A" loop along the river, chose the one we liked best.
The weather was great, no rain, some haze in the sky from the fires.
Nights were chilly down to about 37 degrees. Hiked all over the place.
The water level was the same as last year. Noticed that there were more younger kids this year. Probably people looking for a cheap vacation.
Found out the $7 burger combos are great at the grill by the store.
Some days you just don't want to cook for 6 people. The store was very busy all the time and stock was low.
Quite a number of bear traps were set out. We saw two bears, deer
and other assorted critters. Mosquitos were not bad.
One RV ended up next to us. They left after one night thank goodness.
Real party animals..most likely used to the valley camping. Ranger shut them down at 10pm. The days were quiet around the campground.
Great trip, going again next year. No place like it.
