Bears Oh My!

Bears Beginning to Wake up

This is kind of important to me. I've already been in most of the specific places mentioned in this article.

Only carrying bear spray.

On last Saturday's Lazy Mountain hike I had the spray in my bag but it was such a large group I really didn't need it.

The essentials should at least give you some peace of mind that you can go and enjoy and
the chances are slim you have any issues.

i.e.:
http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=livingwithbears.bearcountry

Of particular interest is this:
"A study by the state epidemiologist showed that during the first 85 years of this century, only 20
people died in bear attacks in Alaska. In the 10 years 1975-85, 19 people in Alaska were killed by dogs."

What do they say?
Paranoia will destroy-ya

Have fun
