My daughter hated camping too. Then she went away to college. When she came home, she asked if she could borrow our car and gear to go camping with her friends.

Turned out she didn't hate camping. She just hated us!

I have to say that this public service announcement was highly valuable to me. Now I realize that the real reason to go camping is to pretend you don't have a house!eye rolling smiley

That was an old standup routine from some comic.

Why do white people spend so much money to go camping and act like they're homeless?

As an amateur astronomer I sincerely apologize to this young lady because the meteor shower was random and not "consistent". Can't have that! Also, apparently she planned to sleep in until 1:00 PM when the baseball field might be in use,---hence the real fear of getting hit by a baseball while camping. By the way, is sleeping overnight on a baseball field really camping? Surprised she didn't mention snakes or bears or cougars! Maybe the baseball team is named the Pythons, Grizzlies, or Cougars? Yeh, this would be a real fun girl to take backpacking. You mean, I have to carry that on my back? Can't somebody else do it? How come my phone doesn't work? It's too hot. It's too cold. It's too wet. My feet ache. One quarter mile in she asks, "How many miles have we gone?" You try to convince her Parsons Soda Springs is just around the corner and why it's a place on the map.

This girl would complain on a trip to the mall.
