I took this shot with my Blackberry through a friend's telescope here in Napa. And with the annular exclipse earlier this year, it's been a good astronomy show in 2012!

the odd blue light on the right is an optical effect...

Great picture. We used our spotting scope again to cast the image on a white piece of paper. Our pictures are not as impressive as yours. We really need to go and buy a solar filter for our 8 inch telescope.
