As long as you use something to protect the trees from the rope that you hang your hammock on. I know as we have been reprimanded the past two years. This last time, a couple of weeks ago, we put cardboard up between the rope and trees. (This while the neighbors across from us were throwing axes and knives into the pines for sport...multiple days.)
