Writer and Climber, 45, Is Killed Near Yosemite .

Michael J. Ybarra, a freelance writer and extreme-sports correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, was killed in a fall during a weekend mountain-climbing trip in the Sierra Nevada, according to his sister, Suzanne Ybarra.
"He died doing what he loved most," Ms. Ybarra wrote on her Facebook page late Wednesday.

Mr. Ybarra set out by himself early Saturday morning to traverse the Sawtooth Ridge, a rugged area near Yosemite National Park, his sister and Alex Few, a friend and fellow mountain climber, had said earlier Wednesday.
