It doesn't compare to the Sierra, but there is some nice hiking in Chino Hills.
Not too bad for 10 minutes from home.

Fires have burned a lot of the trees. Much of the park burned in 2008. There are more trees down in the canyon.

That view of downtown L.A. with the snowcapped San Gabriels in the background always reminds me of Denver with the Rockies in the background.
