Delaware North Cos. Inc.’s Parks & Resorts unit has acquired a motel near California’s Yosemite National Park.

Dunno exactly why but when I walk into the Awanhee and see the
Delware North plaque it just cheapens the place to me.

I'll probably stick to sleeping in the woods ... and granite... and
rivers edge... and mountain vistas... and meadows edge.... ahh...

That's nothing. Try Aramark Parks and Resorts. The same company that does uniform service and ballpark food/beverage service.

I was lugging around a big Aramark bag after buying something at Kalaoch Lodge at Olympic NP.

I guess that's one way of equalzing prices...just buy up all the surrounding lodging and make the prices high at all of them.

There's a sign in the Lobby at Yosemite Lodge, that states that they're required to charge no more for lodging than a comparable place that's not in Yosemite. Right.

To be fair, I guess they have a baseline price of somewhere around $90-100 for the cheapest lodge rooms, which I suppose is tolerable. But they seem to double for no apparent reason...off season, no holiday, no big event, yet it suddenly jumps to $170 or more. And you can't check in til 5. Which is why I stay in Mariposa or Oakhurst, nice as it is to wake up in the snowy valley. Even off-season, the surrounding area places run by Delaware North are pricey, and you still have to drive to get to the valley.

I used to dislike Curry Co. These guys are making the Curry days look great.
