ScienceDaily (Jan. 9, 2009) — That pesky buzz of a nearby mosquito is the sound of love, scientists have known for some time. But a new Cornell study reports that males and females flap their wings and change their tune to create a harmonic duet just before mating.

I heard this on NPR and thought "you have GOT to be KIDDING!!" It was really interesting because they had the actual recording of the "tune"

(I think that the audio program was on Science Friday on the NPR website, also)

I associate mosquitos more with this slapping sound that happens every June
