Re: Mt. Whitney the Slow Way TR

Since this is the Yosemite Forum, I will just post the link to the pictures. Seven days, six nights. Started at the Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead, went over Army Pass, and came at Mt. Whitney from the south via Crabtree Meadows and Guitar Lake. Came out at Whitney Portal after a trip to the top of Whitney. Experienced that first snowfall of the season, but fortunately we were at the low point of the trip.

Agreed, nice trip photos...sweet route.
Did the same a few summers back; added a few days though as fishing was our driving force... (Fished every damn lake along the way).
The second time through, we substituted Miter Basin/ Crabtree Pass as a subtle variation...rumor has it that Sky Blue and both Crabtrees can hold big Goldens...(Finicky creatures them Goldens!)
Your photos indeed brought back some fine memories - Thanks. One glaring omission (one photo I was looking/hoping for) was one of the outdoor crapper at Crabtree Meadows, near the Ranger Station. Being a watercolor artist (and disturbed?), always wanted a picture of that famous "throne" to copy...Anyone?

Sorry, had I known you wanted a photo, I would have taken one in the snow. I guess you'll just have to go back and get one yourself.
