Re: Tioga Pass Alternate Route

We'll be travelling on a family vacation and had been looking forward to
traversing Tioga Pass to Yosemite. We will be driving from Vegas through
Death Valley and staying in Mammoth Lakes the evening of June 6th. Plans
were to head over Tioga Pass on June 7. Lack of progress in plowing
Highway 120 indicate this will very likely not be an option. Can anyone
suggest a reasonable alternate route from Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite
Park other than the 250 miles or so going North to pick up Route 88?
Should Route 108 be open? Or Route 4?

I doubt 108 (Sonora Pass) will be open by them but it is possible. Route 88/89 should be open and may be your best choice.

In Lee Vining they say, there's a good chance to open Sonora pass for Memorial Day Weekend. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Caltrans is certainly aiming to have it open by Memorial Day Weekend.
