A Markham taxi driver got a big scare on Thursday morning when he was confronted by what he thought was a black bear. He called York regional police, saying he couldn’t get out of his cab because there was a bear walking around it.

Many years ago in Maine we owned a white shepherd dog who loved to go swimming in a nearby pond and then roll in mud or even cow patties if he could find some (delightful). One day a neighbor who was missing a few brain cells called the local game warden to inform him she had sighted a "wild white pig" running loose! She was so upset about it that she would not leave the house. Since there are no wild pigs in Maine he naturally did not come check it out but it provided him with the chuckle of the day.
