Last Tuesday morning a pair of pit bulls killed my last two llamas.

It's eerily quiet here, a llama ranch with no llamas.

That's sad to hear. I hope the dogs are known.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully his insurance company will reimburse you fairly and quickly.

That's the problem; it won't be any imposition on the dog owners. They'll just have their insurance company pay and forget about it. And I'm pretty sure the dogs are still alive. According to state law, they have to kill twice before they are put down.

But didn't they kill twice? (Your two llamas)

I tried that. It didn't work. Maybe the insurance company will cancel the dog owners home insurance, or make them get rid of the dogs in order to keep their insurance. The dogs are on record with animal control as having killed once. The next time something, or someone, gets killed they will have to put the dogs down. If any dog I owned did that, it wouldn't have survived the day.

PHOENIX -- A judge on Tuesday opted not to put to death a pit bull that attacked a 4-year-old boy last month, but ordered it to be defanged, neutered and to have a microchip implanted.

If it was a human that did the attack, they'd demand the death penalty.

I've lived with a pit bull (not by choice) so I know they can be very sweet. But I also know that can change in an instant. They were bred to fight and kill. Too bad so many owners are in denial.

But, but, but... they make great family pets! eye rolling smiley

(Just like almost any other dog breed, except that most other dog breeds are far less vicious and deadly than pit bulls.)

Sure, if you're tired of having those pesky kids in the house.
