This week we celebrate Thanksgiving in the USA, and we thought we'd take just a minute to mention some of the things we are grateful for:

Top among those are our apparent good health, and the fact that we have each other and continue to be in love after 38 years of marriage. We wish all of you the same.

We're also enormously grateful for the fact that we live in a place and time that allows us to enjoy the beauty of nature when and where we would like, with wonderful national parks, forests, and wilderness areas. And we should mention the many people who have joined us in our celebration of the wilderness, from those on these backpacking message forums, to those we have taken along on a hike . We thank you all

Or just read a good mystery novel set in the Sierra; https://www.amazon.com/Danger-Falling-Rocks-Paul-Wagner/dp/0984884963

I would also like to add my thanks to the good people here who have graciously shared their experiences and knowledge of this special place we all know and love. A special thanks to the "avians", the "old Dudes". the "JKW's" and others who have willingly and occasionally enthusiastically shared their love of Yosemite. I wish you all good health and happy trails! (Also, congratulations Balzaccom!)

Top ten things I'm thankful for:

1) Trail builders and maintanence people.
Without their work, I'd still be lost in
Indian Canyon.
2) Whoever builds the banana splits that
I destroy after each hike.
3) This forum, for putting me on to Sierra Pt.,
Ledge Trail, Diving Board, etc.
4) Yoga pants
5) Naughty girls who shop at the One Size Too Small
store.
6) John Muir and Teddy.
7) Strategicaly placed metal pipe railings.
8) Getting to follow a bear down the 4 Mile
Trail 2 years ago.
9) Memories and anticipation.
10) That I don't have enough guts to try
climbing. Gravity never goes on holiday.
