Some spots are available for May in Pine campgrounds, especially for North Pine.

Yosemite Reservations at Recreation.gov

Thanks for posting this. I checked and there were quite a few sites available. I let family know but it seems that we are all set for our next campout.

I lucked out in a similar situation...Mount Whitney permits became available...
