Re: Upper Pines Site 43

I managed to get a last minute spot this weekend for upper pines 43.

Problem is my trailer is 26 foot, 31.5 foot end to end.
The site says it can handle an rV up to 35 and trailer 24 foot.

Anyone have experience with this site? I find the limits tend to be conservative most sites, hoping this is one too.. I checked campsite photos that I could find and it seems it should be doable?

I have a list of campsite parking pad dimensions and it shows the pad size for that campsite is 33x10, clear. Clear means that you should be able to back the trailer wheels up to the bumper stop and hang the rest of it behind the bumper stop. Depending on how many feet you have between the back wheel and the end of the trailer should give you an idea of how much room you would have left in front of the trailer. The campsite photo shows the tow vehicle in that picture parked sideways across the pad. Here's a drive through video of that campground. Go to about 2:14 and your campsite should be the one just past the green and white van on the right. Note the position of the pad bumper. If you can't get both vehicles in there you could park the trailer there and look around for a double wide pad where only one vehicle is using the pad and offer the camper a couple of bucks to allow you to park just your tow vehicle there. (43 is not double wide pad). There is also a hiker's pkg. lot along the shuttle bus road behind Upper Pines that you may be able to park it there. Also you could park it in the Camp Curry lot. A lot of ifs and maybes here, but don't hold it against me if any of them are incorrect. Also 43 is a handicapped site. I don't know if that would be a problem for you if you don't have a handicapped placard. I would call the Park to clarify. I have a number for the Valley campground office (Rangers), but it might be old. 209-372-8502.

Here's a better picture of your site....Looks like that bumper on the pad is gone, but you are supposed to keep all your wheels on the pavement...Let me know how it works out.
