Spring in the Desert

We're just back from ten days of exploring the desert: Virgin River Gorge, Warner Valley, Whitney Pocket, Red Rock Canyon, and Death Valley. We saw great petroglyphs in four different sites, hiked in a state park, a national monument, a national park, and a natiojnal conservation area. We saw dinosaur tracks and ice age fossils, an abandoned mine and more stunning desert views than you can imagine. We saw wind, rain, sun and snow.

And we actually found a way to enjoy Las Vegas. Go figure.

For the whole story, you can go here for the last blog report: https://www.backpackthesierra.com/post/desert-southwest-part-five

Which also includes a link to the whole photo blog...as well as the previous four parts of the trip.

Neat trip! Thanks for sharing the pics. I like certain things in Las Vegas and surroundings - learned how to find the good stuff after numerous work trips there.

It is interesting when you have the opportunity to see beautiful things.
