Major Packer of the Royal Military Police was expected never to walk again after suffering a spinal injury whilst serving on operations in Iraq in February 2008. Now he is preparing to climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in California, USA.

He was on the local news this morning. I didn't see much of the story, but for him it's all pullups.

That's a lot of pullups. Woof.

A few years back a climber that sustained a spinal cord injury from a fall went up the face of Halt Dome. His climbing buddy piggy-backed up to the face and the crippled guy did pull-up to the top. I'm thinking the whole trip took like 18 days. On this I could be grossly wrong.
