Would it really have been that difficult to try to move on all 4's and act a little like a bear between scenes? I expected to see the ursine character smoking a cigarette between narrator monologues.

I only got to the part where he gives the sasquatch bear a right cross and goes into the eye-gouging, then turned it off. Good and funny until then...you're supposed to play dead when a bear comes to give you a hug and get a bite to eat. You fight back against mountain lions.

What?!?!

No. You are suppose to fight back aggressively against Black Bears.

Found this interesting fact:
About 70 percent of human deaths from grizzly bears are from mothers defending cubs, but black bear mothers have not been known to kill anyone in defense of cubs.

I've never seen anywhere that you fight a bear. Here is a link that says otherwise...play dead unless the bear keeps biting, then fight back (seems a last resort). I personally would not win a fight with a bear so I just try to stay away. Black bears don't seem to be much of a problem. Last one I saw was in Kings Canyon last month, I walked past him about maybe 15 feet away without either of us noticing each other. I discovered him when he started going after some termites in downed wood. The bear stared at me for about 10 seconds and seemed more curious than anything, then went back to doing what he was doing. I walked away at an accelerated pace...both ankles hurt for a few days...

I'm sure he saw you but didn't give a crap.

I give up.

OK, I was at work earlier today and had the volume turned down (for obvious reasons). Just watched the full length one in full stereo surround sound (note sarcasm).

I still think, and have read, that play dead is your first option if a bear decides to come scratch you up and bite you, black or brown bear, doesn't matter. I think "play dead" is the wrong phrase. Better would be "be uninteresting." I'm real good at that.

Entertaining video of the sasquatch bear, though.

The Yosemite Medical Clinic should open up a branch office next door. The income would eliminate the need to collect any other park fees.

It IS evil that something that should taste SOOO good, should be SOOO bad for you!!! (what IS IT with the craving for the baddest food in the world after a BP trip???) I could have had some fine looking spaghetti last night, but I opted for a nice greasy pile of fries and a burger on the side!!!

Bee, years ago, and I'm talking decades, one of the pitchers on our high school baseball team said he liked to get sick from booze and barf, because right after you barf, you feel really good.

Doesn't make it right.

Ok, one more thing.

Since the whole thing is ridiculous anyway.
In the Sierra, if you get attacked by an ursine then you are either:
a) incredibly unlucky
b) had it coming by going into it's tent and attempting to dry hump it
c) see a
d) see b
e) an ursine yourself

We saw some freshly squeezed poo de ursa americanus ...
lots of birdys... but no larger critters...
