EASTERN SIERRA SLOPES-OWENS VALLEY-WHITE MOUNTAINS OF INYO COUNTY-
450 AM PDT SUN OCT 11 2009

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CALIFORNIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED TODAY OR TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

A VERY MOIST ONSHORE FLOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
TUESDAY WITH VERY HEAVY PRECIPITATION DEVELOPING ALONG THE WEST
SLOPE OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUING INTO
WEDNESDAY MORNING. SOME OF THIS PRECIPITATION WILL SPILL OVER INTO
THE EAST SLOPE OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA...OWENS VALLEY AND WHITE
MOUNTAINS. THE GREATEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE AT OR ABOVE
8500 FEET DUE TO THE WARM NATURE OF THE STORM. A WINTER STORM
WATCH WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED FOR THIS SYSTEM DUE TO THE POTENTIAL
OF HEAVY SNOW AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. BREEZY TO LOCALLY WINDY
CONDITIONS WILL PERIODICALLY OCCUR AS WELL. DRY AND WARMER WEATHER
CONDITIONS WILL DEVELOP LATE NEXT WEEK.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER,
SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT ANY SIGNIFICANT WEATHER
CONDITIONS ACCORDING TO STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES.
