Naturalist Guide Certificate Program
Start: April 3 at 7 p.m.
End: April 22 at 5 p.m.

Through this professional certificate course, students will gain lifelong skills to be a successful naturalist, and practical experience and soft-skills that will help them share that knowledge with others. They will learn the interpretive principles, naturalist skills, safety and risk management, group management, communication and facilitation skills necessary for successfully guiding short, day-long, or multi-day interpretive programs and tours. Students will also learn how to understand and interpret the wildlife, geology, plants, and climate of a landscape. During the course students will have the opportunity to become Certified Interpretive Guides through the National Association for Interpretation, Leave No Trace Trainers through Leave No Trace, Inc, and earn seven undergraduate credits through the University of Montana Western.
