The bears are becoming active in Yosemite. Here's a few tips:
Make sure you remove food, drinks, toiletries, and other scented items from your vehicle.
Dispose of garbage in bear-proof dumpsters and cans. Clip dumpsters--otherwise, bears can get in them, but sometimes can't get back out.
Don't speed: More than a dozen bears are hit (and often killed) by cars each year.
When in the backcountry, always store food in a bear-resistant food canister.
Never feed wildlife.
Report all bear sightings to the Save-a-Bear hotline: 372-0322.
