I've never been to Mariposa Grove, I know the road in there is closed in winter and I'm planning my visit to Yosemite for mid-Feb (for the Firefall, see other thread). How far a hike is it, what equipment (snow shoes, crampons) would I need, where do I park, etc. Thanks in in advance
I hiked Mariposa Grove around Thanksgiving once. No snow then. I think you would just need snowshoes, not crampons. The trail goes up, up, up, but if you follow the road it's graded.
