I remember a back country camping trip my buddies and I took to Gem/Thousand Island lakes (above the June Lakes loop) back in the 60's: Old army canvas tent. Canned goods. Hatchet. Firewood. Coleman stove. Pellet gun. Full size sleeping bags. Beer. Can't understand why we were so exhausted when we finally got there.

Where can I get one of those for my collection?

In college some of us went camping in my friend's father's old Marine tent. It was raining hard and we told one of the girls not to touch the tent but she did and it leaked all night in that section.

Two words: tube tent.
