remember how this area was soooo over grown that you could barely take photos anymore of the view? well, they FINALLY cut the sucker trees all down so you can now take clear un-obstructed photos!!! horray!!!

i talked to an employee about it, i said "so they finally decided to cut those things down huh?", and she said "well, yeah, but we don't like telling people we cut them, so we don't say anything about it, but yes, we cut them down".

There is also a big, gorgeous red cedar log across the front of the view that makes a great foreground object for photographs without obstructing the view! Photos ops there are better now than in many-a-year.

So they didn't keep it there like The Old Man of the Lake (a log that's been floating vertically for over a century and hasn't completely rotted yet) at Crater Lake NP?

??? The same log was straight across the base of the retaining slope last time I was there, in June...it hasn't gone anywhere!

Yes, that log above must be something that washed in recently; it's not the one that's been at Valley View for a long time

I doubt they'd think they could sneak that one out without anyone noticing.
